“Feeling it” – I spoke last week about how drawing with your eyes closed is likely the most “real” connection with your memory of something – or if not that transcendental, at least makes you reduce your scope to the most important parts of a sketch. What are the core movements of something?

Chickens! Very happy with these – blasting all these out made me feel less attached to any one drawing and ultimately gave me, statistically, more chances to come up with something “extra”. Which ones stand out to you?

House again! – continuing here on the house thing. Need to do more of these ultimately but I think I am converging on something here.

Garden art! I was pretty stoked about this as a line sketch. But then I wanted to challenge myself to try and watercolor it too. Some immediate challenges for me center around making enough contrast within the color green to make it interesting. Also exploring coloring foreground and background here. Darker backgrounds are tricky since you can’t just paint over them. Filling it in here I am getting ‘good’ results – I think I can do better with time. But also I don’t want to bog down too much on technique here. This drawing took me about 1 hour. Think i need to stick with the rapid fire stuff mostly.

Thanks for visiting my Blahg!
